I heard Steve Scalise speak this morning at a prayer breakfast. He said that after he was shot he immediately went to prayer. And he felt no pain. He had a conversation with God. Of course, that is how he always prayed. Every day. And he urged everyone not to wait until a tragedy to have a personal relationship with our savior, Jesus Christ. He had that God consciousness talked about in the AA Big Book. And I talk about it in my book. It’s a personal faith that works. Because if it’s not personal to you what use is it in the dark times?
A man named Chicken Charlie in New Orleans is reputed to have said that he never met a man who drank on a day that he prayed. Have you prayed today?
